Jan 23

Reggae Rise Up has just announced the launch of their 2017 Artist Discovery Contest! Starting on Monday, January 23rd, independent artists can register online for a chance to be selected to perform at Reggae Rise Up Florida on March 4th and 5th at Vinoy Park in Downtown St. Petersburg.

This is the festival’s third year in Florida and features it’s most impressive lineup to date. Reggae Rise Up has succeeded in representing the wide-range of sub-genres that make up the reggae scene at large including: SoCal reggae-rock heavyweights Slightly Stoopid, Huntington Beach hip-hop/reggae hybrids the Dirty Heads, Jamaica’s roots revival champion Protoje, UK legends Steel Pulse, Hawaii’s Iration and The Green, hometown afro-pop/tropical indie-rock favorites The Hip Abduction, along with many more.

After receiving countless emails from local and regional artists hoping to get a spot on the lineup, the Reggae Rise Up team have decided to run an online competition providing local, independent, and unsigned talent a chance of being selected to perform at this years festival.

To register for Reggae Rise Up’s Artist Discovery Contest submit your band’s best track here and include your website address and social media profiles in the description. Fans can then vote for their favorite artists through February 20th at midnight PST for a chance to perform at Reggae Rise Up Florida 2017 along with an artist spotlight on Reggae Rise Up’s online blog. Three winners will be selected by the Reggae Rise Up team on Tuesday, February 21st, from among the top 20 artists with the most votes.

Local artists already on the lineup include Sidereal, Oceanstone, and Summer Survivors.

Good luck from the Reggae Rise Up team and looking forward to reviewing all of the submissions!
