James Kamawe grew up in Nairobi, Kenya, surrounded by the rich traditions of East African jewelry-making. When he and his wife, Kris began making regular journeys back to Kenya, they kept returning home with something special: handcrafted pieces that told stories, carried meaning, and turned heads everywhere they went. Friends and family couldn’t stop asking: “Where did you get that?”

That question became the foundation of Shop Kamawe.
