Uncle Phil has always been a lover of popcorn. Whether it was at the circus when young, or his mother making fresh popcorn on a Saturday night.

Ten years ago, Uncle Phil built his first popcorn wagon as a hobby and participated in a few small events at the start. In 2011, Uncle Phil was asked to pop some corn at our local Whole Foods Market in Sarasota. From then on, he became an advocate of organic popcorn – Non GMO. Not only is non GMO popcorn better for peoples health, but it had the taste of popcorn back in the day. Over the years, Uncle Phil participated in some part time events and also donated popcorn from his popcorn barn to a number of non-profits in the Sarasota area.​

Retiring from his job at the Sarasota Farmer’s Market as the executive director, he fulfilled his dream by opening up a popcorn shop and general store. His wife Heidi joined in with her organic cotton candy and his daughter Lauren fulfilled her passion for tea and herbs.

Uncle Phil has two signature popcorns. One is the Selby Cinnamon that was created specifically for the Lights in Bloom Selby Garden Holiday event and Maple Sugar Popcorn. Uncle Phil created the Maple Sugar Popcorn because of a long tradition of maple sugarin’ starting with his grandfather in Sutton, VT.
